Fairfield County Council on Aging
Angel Tree is Up Again
The Angel Tree Project is up for its 11th year!
For those not familiar with the Angel Tree Project, seniors from around the county are placed as "angels" for "adoption" on our special tree at FCCOA. Senior angels are placed upon the tree with their name and rough location. Members of the public are encouraged to take an angel and fill a box with holiday goodies for those who may not be able to join the festivities or lack families to celebrate with.
To claim an angel, give the office a call at 803-635-3015 or drop by our offices on Washington Street to claim your angels from our tree.
Once your angel is clamed, you receive a box to fill. The items to include in your box are up to you! We have provided a list below to give you some ideas; however, these are simply suggestions to help you pack your box. Be creative and pack your box with items you think a senior would love to have. Boxes can also contain personal items, like scarves, gloves, socks, etc.
If you are not able to fill a box yourself, donations towards filling a box are also accepted. We ask for $35 to help us fill the boxes for the seniors. If you have bulk items you would like to donate, that would also be helpful.
All holiday boxes must be returned by December 2nd so that we can get them to everyone in time!
Join in on the Angel Tree Project now and help us spread some holiday cheer this season!
