May...Your Month Be Awesome!

Welcome to the merry month of May! Flowers are in bloom. The weather is great. And there are a host of fun things coming your way from the Council on Aging. Check it out below!

May 3rd--Midlands Gives

FCCOA is taking part in Midlands Gives this year!

"What is Midlands Gives?" you ask.

Midlands Gives is an annual event hosted by Central Carolina Community Foundation. The goal is to raise funds and awareness for local nonprofits in 11 Midlands counties in the Spring. During the annual 18-hour online giving challenge on the first Tuesday of May, this challenge helps give nonprofits an extra boost to continue doing the good work in their communities.

You know us--and have known us for 50 years! FCCOA is dedicated to helping every senior in Fairfield County age in place with dignity, but we cannot achieve this goal without your help. So, this upcoming Tuesday--May 3rd--please support us through Midlands Gives.

(Click the button below to be taken to our donation page.)

Another great way you can help us for this event is by sharing the link to our page on your social media pages this Tuesday—May 3rd! The more support we get, the more we can do for our older friends and neighbors!

Thank you for your continued support throughout the years! Here's to another 50 years of excellence in serving our senior community!

Telecare Volunteers Needed!

Do you enjoy meeting new people?

Do you like to talk?

Would you like to brighten the day of a homebound neighbor?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you should join our volunteer Telecare program! If you have an hour during the week, drop by the office and lend your voice to check on our older community members.

If you have an interest in volunteering or would like additional information, please call Moriah Manning at the Fairfield County Council on Aging office: (803) 635-3015.

Crochet Request

We are looking to start a crochet club for our friends at the senior center. If you have extra crochet items that you would be willing to donate, that would be tremendously helpful and appreciated! (If you would like to help teach the sessions too, let us know!)

Holiday Closing

On Monday, May 30th, the offices will be closed in observance of the Memorial Day Holiday. We hope you stay safe, everyone! The office will reopen on Tuesday, May 31st.

And finally, here is the Latest Edition of From Our Front Porch--our monthly newsletter (See the Calendar tab for May's activities):
